Chocolate Lava Cookie Skillet

Ingredients
  

Cookie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Lava Center
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter

Equipment

  • cast iron skillet

Method
 

  1. Prepare the chocolate lava center by heating cream and mixing with chocolate and butter until smooth.
  2. Make cookie dough by creaming butter and sugars, then adding eggs, vanilla, and dry ingredients.
  3. Layer half the dough in a skillet, add lava filling, then cover with remaining dough.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until edges are golden and center is soft.
  5. Cool slightly and serve warm with ice cream for best lava effect.

Notes

Do not overbake to preserve the molten center. Serve immediately for best texture.
